URGENT--- Currently someone is spamming DA with thousands of comments that say something along the lines of ""Rofl, this is relevant to your interests" " and there is a link! DO NOT CLICK IT! This is a phish/account hijack and people are being taken to a site where it is injecting code into the browser and hijacking people's DA accounts, it then sends out 1000s of messages from YOUR account on tons of deviations with that very link and text in it. Do NOT click on ANY link that ends with .php, at ALL. These comments can look as though they come from someone you know on DA! Please be aware folks!!!

*I was hit too. Clicked on the link but it didn't load immediately and I had other pages I wanted to visit so I stopped it from loading. However... in the event that you were SPAM'd via my account- I apologize. Please be careful.

Had a good hang with a friend last night
downed a bottle of Cabernet

'm proud of my country (always have been but as a minority... i'm extra proud). i'm proud at the steps our country has taken forward- not backward. we are not a perfect society. change takes time. sometimes it's not as fast some would hope. sometimes what is attempted (in the name of change) doesn't always work at first or work that well.

for example... give peace a chance. every man (as in human) is equal. these words sound simple. they should be simple. but how did our country go about achieving these matters?

i'm not talking about today but about the time of segregation, racism and inequality? protests were done (in the attempts of doing it peacefully yet there was violence). some who protested peacefully still felt the process was too slow and thought reverse racism and aggression would help the cause- it didn't. segregation of schools and busing was ended. should've helped the peace and equality process but it didn't. it has taken 40+ years to get to where we are. AND we are still not done.

what i'm trying to say is "change" doesn't happen over night and at first the attempts made at change may seem slow or imperfect but we need to work at it, rework at it and we need to give it a chance. figure out what works and run with it.

obama is not the messiah. he is a man. he is a man whom the majority elected. he has the hopes of many who've struggled before him. he has the hopes of the entire nation for progress. BUT he is only 1 man. WE, however, are 1 nation that must help our president. if we don't... it will be another 40 years for us to achieve peace and prosperity. if we don't come together and support/challenge him- he will fail. AND if he fails... we as a nation have failed at this opportunity and will have to start over in another 4 years (in hopes of getting it right then BUT the principles of us doing our part will still remain the same).

AND for those who ask... i didn't vote for obama. i'm not saying his election is good or bad. i do believe this though- he is our president AND he deserves our support. we are at a time when we have the opportunity to step up and make our country better. i am a patriot. i believe this is our time to repair our nation. help rebuild our country (financially, socially, morally) as our predecessor's have (those of the great drepression, the bombing of pearl harbor/WWII, civil rights, cold war, 9/11). at each time our nation was faced with challenges- now is our time to be great BUT it begins with our support of the commander in chief. it does not mean blind loyalty BUT it does mean that we as a people must also do our part.


*normally i don't post political type journals- i respond to posts of other journals. i posted this in response to someone's journal and believed it important enough to be a journal of my own. sorry for the rant.

ok... my life has become a series of comedies or greek tragedies.

how is it possible for one person to go through what i'm going through?

on friday i had some medical problems (possibly related to my back). i could not go to the bathroom. after being catherized and "examined". i was then rushed (red lights & sirens) from the emergency room in hartford to and emergency room in milwaukee (1 hour away). it was feared that my nerves in my lower spine were being "shut off" and i might need surgery. after further examination (in milwaukee) and more tests it was determined that i didn't need surgery.

comments by staff were made that i was in an extremely upbeat mood for having experienced what i was going through. i told my wife that after the nights experiences (being awake for the insertion of a catheter, outputing 1500 cc's of urine within 2 minutes after catheterization, 2 rectal exams and an enema) that i could not possibly reach a more embarrassing or lower point. the staff was great and nice. they were professional. for a man... it's embarrassing. i figured that instead getting upset by it that things could only get better.

now... i wait for an appointment with a specialist to find out why this happened. through all the back pain, all the nerve pain and now this i always thought it was for some higher purpose... i've come to the conclusion that it has been for comedy relief.

i have to laugh because crying has not helped!! no, not looking for sympathy but thought i'd share what's been going on in my medically challenged new year- 2009 sucks!!!

AND i can't wait for this damn thing to be removed!!!
